You can get by in Crimson Desert‘s early game by simply scavenging and looting whatever gear you can find, but eventually you’ll need money itself — and in significant amounts. Fortunately, money is not that hard to accumulate as long as you know what you’re doing.
This guide covers every efficient method for earning copper, silver, and gold quickly — from Red Croton farming and diamond mining to thievery and gold bar alchemy.
💰 Quick Overview: The best early‑game farm is Red Croton near the Abyss Nexus in The Witchwoods — fast travel, gather, sell, repeat. For bigger profits, mine diamonds in the crater cave west of Unicorn Cliff. And if you’re feeling bold, the Hernand bank holds nearly 100 silver — but beware the reputation hit.
🌺 Red Croton Farming – The Best Early Farm
Right from the start, you have access to a resource farming location right next to a fast travel point. Head into the woods south of Hernand to find the Abyss Nexus in The Witchwoods. In the vicinity, there’s an abundance of Red Crotons — a flower you can store and sell in stacks of 50.
Look around for any other farmable materials or resources once you’ve stripped the location clean of flowers. The Abyss Nexus can conveniently take you right back to Hernand to sell your wares for quick cash. Return after a week or so to farm it all over again.
📦 Selling Loot – Clear Your Inventory
You’ll be amassing way more gear and equipment than you know what to do with, so simply dispose of it all with any merchant you come across.
Pro tip: Attempt to expand your inventory at every opportunity, just so you can bring more loot home for selling.
🏹 Hunting – Passive Income from Fauna
Wild fauna are a nice passive source of sellable materials, given that they will not fight back. Those materials will also come in handy for upgrades at some point.
As a matter of fact, you might be better served by first upgrading any armour you intend on selling for a better profit margin.
⛏️ Ore Farming – Diamonds Are Your Best Friend
Most minerals are not quite abundant in Pywel, so it’s preferable to retain them for upgrades early on — even though they eventually respawn. If you need a quick infusion and are confident you won’t need the ores soon, feel free to exchange them for money.
Diamonds, however, are relatively more disposable in the early game. You won’t need them in the short term, and by the time you do, they’ll have respawned anyway.
Best spot: A convenient diamond mine at a cave in a crater, west of Unicorn Cliff in Hernand.
- Price: 2.25 Silver per diamond
- Yield: up to 8 diamonds per node
Bonus: The entire map is open for almost immediate exploration — there’s practically nothing stopping you from mining rare minerals in distant regions well before you’d normally come across them via story progression.
🎭 Thievery – High Risk, High Reward
Burglarizing the Hernand bank is a viable strategy, even in the early game. You may randomly acquire close to 100 silver by doing so.
However, this is not recommended as it will tank your Hernadian Contribution in town and hamper your progress until you course‑correct through questing.
Requirements:
- Mask – allows criminal behaviour. Can be looted from defeated bandits, rewarded by a specific bounty, or purchased from Grimrak at the Back Alley Shop.
- Key – random drop or purchase from Grimrak.
Note: The chests in the bank respawn after a few days, but the strongboxes do not.
🔮 Gold Bar Alchemy Recipe – Craft Your Wealth
You can also make Gold Bars by acquiring the blueprint and visiting the Witches or the Blacksmith.
Required Crafting Materials
| Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Brimstone | 3 |
| Mercury | 3 |
| Silver Ore | 10 |
Where to Find the Blueprint
Head to Silver Wolf Mountain in Pailune. The location of the blueprint is inside a well‑hidden cave with a narrow entrance, situated in the Witch’s Hideout.
Map reference: This point of interest is in a straight line south of the ‘U’ in Pailune, and east of the ‘I’.
💡 Money‑Making Checklist – Quick Reference:
